To be a basketball official in Miami-Dade County, officials must register with the MDBOA. The registration period for the upcoming basketball season runs from August 15th to October 15th of each year. You must register between those dates to officiate during the upcoming season. All officials, whether new or existing, must register with the MDBOA and pay required fees every year.
Before you begin, please review the FHSAA and MDBOA officials registration process to make sure you can fulfill the requirements to become a middle and high school basketball official in Miami-Dade County. Once you have done that, follow the steps below to complete your registration:
You must register for the FHSAA online here. During this process, you will need to pay all fees required by the FHSAA—they total $60 per official if you apply during early registration. After early registration, the fee is $65. If you are age 16-18, the fee is $10/sport. You will also be given an FHSAA ID# and password. Make sure you save this ID# and password, as you will need it to complete your FHSAA Officials Testing.
